The coronavirus pandemic has affected all of us. But strangely some businesses have withstood all of this quite effectively.

 

I run a digital agency called Seo Souq and we work with several clients in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Here are the 5 common factors that we are seeing in our clients who have grown and thrived even during the pandemic.

1.Focus on Established Revenue Sources

The businesses that thrived during the pandemic were focused on their core revenue sources.

Even before the pandemic they knew that 80% of their business was coming from 20% of their offers, so they were always concentrating on that 20%.

All of our successful clients were using digital advertising on Google and Facebook to bring in leads and sales for their winning 20%.

They had also mastered the art of converting leads into sales and this process continued without any change during the pandemic.

While other brands stopped advertising, the successful brands kept advertising and gained more business at a lower cost during the pandemic.

 

2. Reduce Your Risks and Costs

Risk is an inevitable part of starting and growing a business. It’s impossible to control everything, but there are plenty of ways to limit internal and external threats to your company and its growth.

The successful companies that we work with did not have any excess manpower on board. They had automated most of their tasks and was working with an optimum manpower which helped to reduce cost at all times.

The ads that we were running on Google and Facebook were acting like salespeople who work 24/7 and generated business at all times.

 

3. Be Adaptable.

One trait that successful startups often have in common is the ability to switch directions quickly in response to changes in the market.

An agile approach to development, both in terms of your product and your company, will help you grow more quickly.

One perfume manufacturer that we worked with stopped production of their perfumes and started manufacturing sanitization sprays and kept their assembly lines busy.

 

4. Focus on Your Customer Experience.

Customers’ perceptions of your business can really make or break a business. Deliver quality experiences and products, and they’ll quickly sing your praises on social media; mess it up, and they’ll tell the world even faster.
